About Nankai University
Nankai is a key multidisciplinary university with a complete curriculum that includes the humanities, natural sciences, technology, life sciences, medical sciences and the arts. Founded in 1919, Nankai University is one of China’s most prestigious and is a member of the 985 and 211 groups of universities. Nankai has developed cooperative relations with 300 colleges and research institutes in over 40 countries. With approximately 24,000 students (and almost 3000 international students) you will have the opportunity to live and learn on the University campus, where you will benefit from a range of cultural and social activities organised by our student services team.

• Orientation programme covers the location and usage of key student resources
• Nankai has four main libraries and a number of resource centres
• University library collection totals 3,822,000 volumes and 30 terabytes of e-books
• Students are given access to a book circulation service from the Library, which minimises the need to purchase books
Multipurpose ‘Smart’ Campus Card
• Upon arrival, students are issued with a ‘Smart’ card
• Card provides access and use to library and teaching buildings
• Top-up credit on the card for use in the canteens and supermarkets on-campus
• Can also be used for city transport for simple ‘touch and go’ payment
Computer Facilities
• Students are issued access to 100+ Library computers and the campus Wi-Fi
• Each school includes a dedicated IT suite, open Monday to Friday

TIANJIN
Nankai University is located in Tianjin which is just 30minutes by high speed train from Beijing and is China’s sixth largest city. Tianjin’s annual economic growth stands at 16% making it the fastest developing economic region in the whole of China. Home to more foreign businesses than Shanghai and Beijing, 285 of the Fortune 500 have a presence here including LG, Samsung, Toyota and Coca-cola.
Tianjin has a higher GDP per capita than both Beijing and Shanghai and five-star hotels are opening on a monthly basis. Rich in Chinese arts and culture, the city also hosts a number of international festivals, including the annual dragon boat festival and the international beer festival. Tianjin is easy to get around by taxi, bus or metro and as an international student there is plenty to see and do in this dynamic and vibrant city.
The international airport has flights to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Bangkok and other major Chinese cities.
